MARE FRISIUM: A three-master with tradition
Three masts rise high in to the sky. White sails stand proudly in the wind. The bow of the MARE FRISIUM ploughs through the water. Since October 2005, this imposing ship has been sailing under the flag of s.a.i.l. GmbH.
The MARE FRISIUM is 170 feet long and was build as a drifter in Holland in 1916. Later, refurbished as a cargo ship, she sailed from Hamburg to Sweden and St. Petersburg. Today, the MARE FRISIUM has enough space for 90 day guests and 36 overnight guests. There are two generous rooms with bars and wonderful views. Throughout the summer, the MARE FRISIUM is moored in Kiel. From here, the ship can be used particularly well for sailing tours in the Kiel fjord and the Baltic Sea. From October through to the beginning of May when the city celebrates its port’s birthday, the ship is moored in Hamburg where it can used as a grand location for workshops, conferences, evening events and even Christmas parties.
