Lübeck's famous windjammer
In the seaside spa resort of Travemünde, 15km from Lübeck, the four-masted bark SS PASSAT lies at anchor. This historical sailing ship, which once sailed around the world laden with cargo, was salvaged by the city of Lübeck from beeing broken up and has since found its resting place at the mounth of the Trave.
In 1978, it was grandet a preservation order. At 375 feet (115 metres) long, today the windjammer with its 180-fooot (56 metres) mast serves as an exclusive event location. It is wonderfully suited for family and club funktions as well as for employee and customer events for companies.
